King IV Session – Technology and Information Governance Focusing on Cyber Security

SNG Advisory Governance is pleased to be offering a King IV session on Technology and Information Governance with a specific focus on Cyber Security.

Advances in technology and digitization are revolutionizing business and societies. These developments come with associated risks that should be managed. As Cyber security risks increase exponentially Board members and IT security professionalS face a daunting real world challenge of protecting their company’s most valuable information from theft and loss.

The breakfast session aims to encourage engagement and networking with stakeholders around IT Governance and Cyber security with specific emphasis on how these are referenced in King IV. We will also discuss control measures to mitigate cyber risks and strengthen cyber security controls.

Industry/Department: Industry experience include Financial Services (i.e. Hollard, SARB) and Public Sector i.e. State-Owned Companies/Parastals (IDC; Eskom; Denel)

Expertise: Benjamin Martins is the Head of the SizweNtsalubaGobodo Information Technology & System Consulting division. With over 20 years' experience in IT Risk Management; Business Process Re-engineering; Enterprise Risk Management; Knowledge Management; Data Engineering; IT Security; and SAP Audit. Country experiences include projects in United Kingdom, South Africa, Switzerland, Namibia, Nigeria and Togo.

Kudawashe Charandura Senior Manager Integrated Technology and Governance Solutions (ITGS)

Expertise: Kudakwashe is a seasoned IT audit, risk and security professional with experience in both internal and external audit. He is currently a Senior IT Audit Manager in ITGS where he leads the IT Security Service line. He has serviced various industries in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia, including Energy and Power companies, Public Sector, Financial Sector, Agricultural sector, Manufacturing, Mining, Aviation and Telecommunications companies.

He holds a BSc Honours Computer Science and various international certifications including: CISA, CISM, CPTE, CEH, CCSK and SAP Certified Security Professional (Net Weaver 7.0). He is also involved in training and mentorship in preparation for the CISA and CISM international IT Audit and Security certifications. He has written articles on cybersecurity, some of which has presented to clients.
